Not supported No — Remote Pro does not control it
LG TVs run LG webOS, which Remote Pro cannot reach. We are not going to sell you an app that cannot do the job — here is what does.
LG smart TVs run webOS, and Remote Pro does not control webOS. We would rather say that plainly than sell you an app that fails. LG’s own free app does the job properly — see below.
How to tell: LG smart TVs run webOS: the colourful Home Dashboard launcher bar along the bottom of the screen, and usually a Magic Remote with a scroll wheel and an on-screen pointer.
The alternative
Remote Pro cannot control this one. These are the options that actually work, best first.
Install LG’s own free app, LG ThinQ, from the App Store. It has a proper remote for webOS televisions and it is the right tool for this job.
Put the phone and the TV on the same WiFi network, then add the TV in ThinQ. It will show a pairing prompt on the television.
If ThinQ cannot see the set, try HDMI-CEC: a soundbar, games console or streaming stick plugged into the TV can often drive power, volume and input with its own remote.
Cheapest reliable fallback: a replacement LG remote, or the buttons on the television itself. LG remotes are a few pounds or dollars online.
The honest part
Remote Pro does not control LG webOS televisions. LG uses its own control protocol, we have not implemented it, and an app that claims to control “any TV” is bluffing. We would rather lose the download than take money for something that will not work.
An iPhone has no infrared blaster, so a television that is only controllable by infrared cannot be controlled by any phone app — ours or anyone else’s. We say that on every page rather than hide it in a review reply.
LG ThinQ — free, from LG, and genuinely the app you want for a webOS television. If you also own a Samsung, Fire TV, Android TV or Roku device, Remote Pro handles those.
That is what Remote Pro is for. It speaks those four platforms natively over your own WiFi — full D-pad, volume where the platform allows it, and a real iPhone keyboard for search. It will not control your LG, and it will never claim to.
