Samsung smart TVs run Samsung Tizen, which is a platform Remote Pro speaks natively — over your own WiFi, no extra hardware.
Every Samsung smart TV since roughly 2015 runs Tizen, and Tizen exposes Samsung’s own network remote protocol — the same channel the physical remote’s smart features use. One Allow press on the TV and your iPhone is a full remote.
How to tell: Samsung smart TVs run Tizen: a horizontal ribbon of apps along the bottom of the screen, and Smart Hub in the settings menu.
Setup
Your Samsung (Samsung Tizen) and your iPhone need to be on the same WiFi network. That is the only requirement — no dongle, no hub, no infrared.
Put your iPhone on the same WiFi network as the TV.
Open Remote Pro and tap Scan — your Samsung appears in the device list by name.
Tap it. A prompt appears on the TV: choose Allow. If the remote is missing, most Samsung sets have a small physical joystick or button under the front-right corner or the back edge of the panel that can move the selection and confirm.
Approved once, remembered for good — Remote Pro stores the token and handles Samsung’s token rotation quietly. Full D-pad, volume, mute, power, channel, playback and keyboard.

The honest part
Switching the TV on from your phone works only while the set keeps its network chip awake in standby (most recent Samsungs do). If the TV is fully unplugged, no app can wake it — not even Samsung’s own.

An iPhone has no infrared blaster, so a television that is only controllable by infrared cannot be controlled by any phone app — ours or anyone else’s. We say that on every page rather than hide it in a review reply.
Samsung’s official free option is SmartThings. It is capable, but it is a whole-home hub — you tap through rooms and device cards to reach remote buttons. Remote Pro opens straight onto a remote, and also covers Fire TV, Android TV and Roku.
