NOW TV remote app for iPhone

Not supported No — Remote Pro does not control it

The NOW TV runs a locked Sky/NOW build, which Remote Pro cannot reach. We are not going to sell you an app that cannot do the job — here is what does.

  • a locked Sky/NOW build no

The NOW Smart Stick is Roku-derived hardware running a locked Sky build. We cannot promise Remote Pro will find it, so we do not claim it — that is the whole policy here.

The alternative

What to do instead

Remote Pro cannot control this one. These are the options that actually work, best first.

  1. 1

Use the NOW app on your iPhone, or Sky’s own remote app if the stick came as part of a Sky package. Those are built for this device.

  2. 2

The stick is Roku-derived, so a Roku app may or may not see it depending on the build. We are not going to charge you to find out — treat it as unsupported.

  3. 3

If the stick is plugged into a smart television, control the TV instead: Remote Pro handles power, volume and input on Samsung, Fire TV, Android TV and Roku TVs.

  4. 4

A replacement NOW/Sky remote is inexpensive and is the reliable fix.

The honest part

What you should know before you install anything

Remote Pro controls four platforms: Samsung Tizen, Fire TV, Android TV / Google TV and Roku. Everything else — including every infrared-only television — is honestly out of scope, and we say so rather than let you find out after paying.

An iPhone has no infrared blaster, so a television that is only controllable by infrared cannot be controlled by any phone app — ours or anyone else’s. We say that on every page rather than hide it in a review reply.

There is a free official app

The NOW app on your iPhone, or Sky’s own remote app if the stick came with a Sky package. Those are free and built for this device.

Got a Samsung, Fire TV, Android TV or Roku in the house too?

That is what Remote Pro is for. It speaks those four platforms natively over your own WiFi — full D-pad, volume where the platform allows it, and a real iPhone keyboard for search. It will not control your NOW TV, and it will never claim to.
